Shocking video from the scene of a Texas accident shows the moments a good Samaritan chased a drunk driver who ran a red light and crashed into a car, killing an off-duty police officer.

In the newly released video, 26-year-old Dylan Molina is seen trying to flee the scene after colliding with off-duty police officer Alex Cervantes and his family.

Cervantes died at the scene while his wife and two children were seriously injured.

The video shows a man chasing Molina, who had been served 16 drinks of alcohol before getting into his rental Jeep, holding him down so he can’t get away.

‘Stay there you son of a bitch! See what you did?! said Justin Gonzalez, the Good Samaritan. “Dammit, you killed someone you son of a bitch!”

The video shows Molina, a now-convicted felon, pacing the scene of the accident as others stand around taking the damage and calling the police.

Viewers can see the crashed rental Jeep, as well as other Good Samaritans trying to get into the car it crashed head-on.

After several seconds of walking, Molina stops and runs while a passerby records the entire situation.

In an interview with FOX 4 Dallas, Gonzalez said the adrenaline kicked in and he knew what he had to do after witnessing the accident.

I wanted it down. She wanted to end him. He wanted the police to be there to catch him,” the man told the local media.

In the video, Gonzalez is seen running after Molina, eventually pinning him to the ground and yelling profanity at the drunk driver.

While speaking to the outlet about the shocking video, González offered an apology for repeatedly using the f-word.

“I would like to apologize for my language that I was using,” he said.

‘At that moment, I fainted. She had the parental instincts, the parental instincts. Because two seconds later, it would have been my car,” González continued.

The head-on collision killed off-duty Euless Police Detective Alex Cervantes on impact.

Bystanders seen in the video trying to get into the sedan Cervantes was driving before the crash were working to get his trapped wife and children out.

Gonzalez said he was riding right behind the police officer and watched the entire accident in horror.

Instantly, the Good Samaritan said that he knew Molina was drunk when he approached him. González had an instinct that the man was going to run.

‘Something inside me told me that I was going to run away. Something is not right in the situation. I could sense that something was not right in the situation,” she said.

‘I thought he was still walking behind me. But at that moment, that’s when she turned around and started running. At that moment, when she started to run, something clicked again.

‘And I was like what is this man doing? And I just turned around and started going after him,’ Gonzalez recalled.

After the deadly collision, a local bartender was arrested in connection with the accident and is facing a misdemeanor charge of allegedly serving alcohol to excess.

‘Eight doubles, 16 singles, that’s more than anyone should have in a three-hour period. Maybe even not at all,’ Lake Worth Police Chief JT Manoushagian said.

Video of Molina inside a bar before the accident has also been released, showing the inebriated man continuing to hold a drink, even as he staggers.

“Clearly not a good place to operate a vehicle. Clearly intoxicated. He’s holding another one of those vodka and Red Bull double drinks in there, and then he just walks away,” Manoushagian said.

Molina will now serve 15 years in prison for his actions.

“He’s not going to bring Alex back, but at least he’s locked up behind bars and he can’t hurt another family like he did ours,” said widowed wife Priscilla Cervantes.
