Two million Cosori air fryers are being recalled after their wire connections caused hundreds of them to overheat and catch fire.

The deep fryers, which have been sold in the US, Canada and Mexico, pose a fire hazard, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission

The company has received 205 reports of air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating or smoking.

There have been 10 reports of minor burns and 23 reports of minor property damage, the agency said.

CPSC announced the withdrawal on Thursday with the agency warning consumers to stop using the deep fryers immediately.

The recall involves multiple model numbers in 3.7-quart and 5.8-quart sizes.

Model numbers are printed on the bottom label of each unit and in the owner’s manual.

All units have the Cosori brand on the front.

The air fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at Best Buy, Target, and Home Depot stores and online at Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers.

They cost between $70 and $130.

There have also been recalls of about 250,000 air fryers in Canada and 21,000 air fryers in Mexico.

This recall involves Cosori air fryers with model numbers CP158-AF, CP158-AF-R19, CP158-AF-RXW, CP158-AF-RXR, CAF-P581-BUSR, CAF-P581-AUSR, CAF-P581-RUSR, CP137 -AF, CP137-AF-RXB, CP137-AF-RXR, CP137-AF-RXW, CS158-AF, CS158-AF-RXB, CS158-AF-R19, CAF-P581S-BUSR, CAF-P581S-RUSR, CAF-P581S-AUSR, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CO158-AF-RXB, CP258-AF.

Consumers should contact Cosori at remember.cosori.com to receive a free replacement air fryer or other product.

“All of our products undergo rigorous and routine testing to ensure consumer safety and are in full compliance with established industry standards,” Cosori stated on its official recall website.

“COSORI is committed to the safety of those who use and love our products, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”

Consumers must provide their contact information and a photo of their recalled unit. No receipts are needed.

The Cosori brand is owned by Vesync, based in Shenzen, China.
