Horror as a dead body is found at Coogee Beach, Sydney

Horror as a dead body is found on one of Sydney’s most popular beaches last night as police launch an investigation to formally identify it.
The body of a man was found on Coogee Beach overnight.
Officers with the Eastern Beaches Area Police Command were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police put out a public appeal over the weekend for help finding a 54-year-old man who had told his family on Saturday that he was going swimming at Maroubra Beach, about 2 miles south of Coogee Beach.
Police were notified after the man failed to return home on Sunday and a search was launched.
The body has yet to be formally identified, but police are contacting the man’s family.
