Cristiano Ronaldo has been embracing traditional Saudi Arabian culture and fashion to celebrate Foundation Day in the Middle Eastern nation and clearly enjoyed a relaxing day of celebration with his Al-Nassr teammates.

Ronaldo fitted in alongside his colleagues and joined a series of team-building activities on a special day for the leaders of the Saudi Pro League.

The Portuguese superstar donned an authentic robe to mark the occasion of the day when Saudi Arabia celebrates the formation of the country’s first state three centuries ago.

World leaders sent their congratulations to the nation’s leaders King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with Ronaldo a new addition to the historic event.

Starring alongside his teammates off the pitch, Ronaldo was photographed drinking coffee, posing for photos and dancing with a celebratory sword.

The 38-year-old striker has begun to make his presence known in the Saudi league since his disastrous slump at Manchester United and appears to have returned to form after a disappointing start in the desert.

Ronaldo didn’t score in his first two games but has since netted five league goals, including an impressive four-goal haul against Al-Wehda to break his club’s 500 career goals.

A striking image sees Ronaldo posing with his arms crossed and looking directly into the camera while smiling while wearing a gold-stamped daglah.

A daglah is considered a national dress in the country and is worn by men throughout Saudi Arabia, however Ronaldo’s striking design certainly makes him stand out.

Another highlight of the evening was captured when Ronaldo joined in an uplifting Ardah dance that featured Arabian swords and lots of singing.

He waved a traditional curved sword in the air as the star’s party cheered him on to join in the dancing and light-hearted fun.

Ronaldo was also seen joining in a traditional Ardah dance while holding a sword.

Ronaldo clearly enjoyed his time away from the training ground and was also seen with a Saudi Arabian flag draped over his shoulders as the event was in full swing.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then posted a recap video of the day on his Instagram account, captioning the day: “Happy Saudi Arabia Foundation Day.”

‘It was a special experience to participate in the celebration at Al-Nassr!’ he added.

This year’s Foundation Day was only the second national holiday in the country to honor the special occasion and saw workers across the country take the day off.
