Ariana Grande writes and records ‘a verse for my friend’ The Weeknd while teasing the Die For You remix on social media

Ariana Grande took to social media on Tuesday to share a musical update with her followers.

The 29-year-old pop star created a TikTok showing her in a home recording studio adding her twist to The Weeknd’s song Die For You in 2016.

‘I wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14 hour day on set. This certain exception had to be made…’ the singer wrote about the clip.

The Boca Raton, FL native, who is working on a film adaptation of Wicked, reposted on Instagram and used star and moon emojis as the caption.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was among the first to comment as he added his own string of stars and moons.

New post: Ariana Grande took to social media Tuesday to share a musical update with her followers.

The piece of content showed her sitting at a desk in a dimly lit room with a monitor in front of her.

Ariana only showed the back of her head, which was sporting black studio headphones and her blonde hair tied up in a bun.

The petite vocalist donned a loose-fitting, light-colored crew-neck sweatshirt as she recorded harmonies.

The Weeknd shared the snippet on his personal Instagram account, where he entertains 49.2 million followers, and added a crying and smiling emoji.

Neither music artist said when the song will be released nor did they elaborate on the collaboration.

This latest effort follows the friends’ 2021 work on The Weeknd’s single Save Your Tears.

Prior to that, the two worked together on Grande’s Love Me Harder in 2014 from her album My Everything.

Additionally, the Canadian singer appeared on Off the Table, which was included in Ariana’s Positions project in 2020.

On February 25, Tesfaye will launch his HBO concert special The Weeknd: Live At Sofi Stadium.

An evocative trailer was recently released, offering a few brief clips of the artist performing on stage at the Inglewood location.

He previously played SoFi Stadium in September, but had to abruptly cut his concert short after just 18 minutes when he lost his voice.

In November he returned for a two-show engagement, joking with the audience that they were ‘back at the scene of the crime’.

His tour will take him to Europe in June and in the fall he will perform in Latin America.

The Weeknd is also gearing up to launch his upcoming HBO miniseries The Idol, which he co-created with former nightlife entrepreneur Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson, the writer behind Euphoria.

With a cast that includes Lily-Rose Depp, the show follows a pop star who falls for the owner of a cult nightclub, according to Deadline.
