Former NFL player Marcellus Wiley says transgender athletes should NOT compete against women, suggesting it’s “not right” and labeling the controversial move a “biological problem.”

Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley has said that it is “not right” for transgender women to compete against women in sporting events.

The former FS1 personality posted a TikTok on Saturday, expressing his views on the controversial infiltration of biological men, like swimmer Lia Thomas, into women’s sports.

A Pro Bowl defensive end in 2001, Wiley said he “has no problem with transgender people” but was offended by their involvement in women’s sports.

‘I have no problem with transsexuals. I have a problem with transgender athletes trying to participate and transitioning from a male to a female and now playing with women,” Wiley said.

‘And, I’m going to say that. You all can talk about Dave Chappelle all you want. I am very clear on this. You can be transgender. You can be the homie, but I’m damned if a male at birth turns female and tries to compete against my daughters. She’s not out there. she we out

Wiley has three daughters, with the oldest Morocco, a former track and field athlete at UConn.

‘Don’t make this a human rights problem, it’s a biological problem. Simple as that. Trust me, I’m a man.

Despite some sectors of society calling for inclusion when it comes to transgender people in sports, Wiley questioned why trans athletes were not seeking to empower women and compete against men.

‘Why can’t guys who transition into women really empower women and compete against men?

‘Oh, don’t you want to do that? Because, why? Hello? Any? Because it’s easier, damn it.

To back up his point, the former defensive end for San Diego, Buffalo, Dallas and Jacksonville referenced the vast difference in the world record 100m times between men (9.58) and women (10.49).

‘I hate to say fair, but it’s not even right. Forget fair, it’s not right.

Wiley is not the first former athlete to come out defending the tradition of women’s sports, with retired tennis champion Martina Navratilova calling trans athletes ‘cheating’.

Former Olympian Bruce, now Caitlyn, Jenner has admitted Thomas has “a tremendous advantage over the girls” he competes against, but has defended trans golfer Hailey Davidson’s attempts to make it to the LPGA.
