Nicole Kidman’s niece Lucia Hawley has revealed why she shouldn’t be labeled a ‘nepo baby’ after landing a coveted new gig hosting red carpet events for Live From E! on the new Seven Network channel 7Bravo.
The 24-year-old aspiring journalist, daughter of famed TV presenter Antonia Kidman, will attend Australia’s biggest events, interview celebrities and report on fashion’s hottest moments.
While some may accuse Lucía of using her ‘nepo baby’ connections to advance her media career, Lucía says she worked hard to land her ‘dream job’.

The term “nepo baby,” short for “nepotism baby,” comes from a recent article published by New York magazine calling out American celebrities who used their famous parents and relatives to build their careers.

Among those named were Jaden Smith, Zoe Kravitz and Maya Hawke.
While the phenomenon is nothing new, the term ‘nepo baby’ has become an increasingly popular term to describe it.
In her interview, Lucía admitted that her mother’s job as a high-profile presenter was beneficial to her career, but only because it taught her “perspective” rather than opening doors for her.
The aspiring journalist, daughter of famed TV presenter Antonia Kidman, says she worked hard to land her “dream job.” “I’ve been working towards this,” she told The Sunday Telegraph this weekend.
“Having a mother who had been in the industry, through osmosis, you get that perspective and understanding, and I think that’s been one of the biggest things that’s helped me prepare for this role, just watching her and how she handles herself. He has behaved, everything,’ he said.
Lucía covered the ARIA Awards for Nine Honey with her work in the role of ‘Associate Producer’ from October 2021.
According to her LinkedIn, Lucía worked as a production assistant at McAvoy Media from January 2021 to October 2021, for a total of eight months.

Lucia holds a Bachelor of Arts from the elite University of Sydney, with a minor in Socio-Legal Studies at the institution.
The glamorous Lucia admitted that she doesn’t feel “nerves” as she has her famous family to turn to for advice, including Oscar winner Nicole.
“I am very lucky to have both of them as role models – not only are they amazing at their work, but they also have a strong sense of self and are very intellectual as well.”
As for advice, Lucia said she was told, ‘Just be enthusiastic, positivity attracts positivity.’
Antonia and her late ex-husband Angus Hawley shared four children: Lucia, 23, Hamish, James and Sybella. Following her split, Antonia married Singapore-based businessman Craig Marran (pictured here) in April 2010, and they had two children together: sons Nicholas and Alexander.
In a statement released Sunday, Lucia said, “I am incredibly excited to join 7Bravo and lead such a well-respected and beloved brand.”

Lucia is one of six children: Antonia shares Lucia, Hamish, 20, James, 18 and Sybella, 14, with her late ex-husband Angus Hawley.
The former couple were married for 11 years, but separated in 2007.
In April 2015, Angus died in New York of a suspected heart attack at the age of 46.
After their separation, Antonia married Singapore-based businessman Craig Marran in April 2010.
The couple have two children together: Nicholas, 10, and Alexander, 8.
Antonia and her family recently moved to Sydney after living in Singapore for almost a decade.
