TikTok sleuths spark outrage after digging up woodland close to where Nicola Bulley vanished

TikTok detectives have unleashed fury after filming themselves digging up a forest near where Nicola Bulley disappeared despite repeated warnings from police to stop.

Two amateur detectives filmed themselves searching a copse near the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, where the mother-of-two went missing three weeks ago.

One is seen digging dirt while the other man films him and comments on Mrs. Bulley’s disappearance.

The video was uploaded to the social media site TikTok this morning by Curtis Cool Stuff, who also posted a video showing him wandering around a large, supposedly empty house on the opposite side of the river from the bank where Ms Bulley was seen. for the last time.

Lancashire Police have warned on more than one occasion that while they welcome offers of help, they would prefer the investigation be left to trained detectives.

One of the ‘detectives’ smiles as he appears to search for the missing mother, despite police telling the amateur detectives to stop.

The search for 45-year-old Nicola Bulley has drawn hundreds of amateur detectives to the once sleepy town.

And today, the locals of St Michael’s on Wyre criticized outsiders who flocked to the village “sticking their noses” and leaving litter.

A local dog walker, who gave his name only as John, raged: ‘This TikTok thing is ridiculous. There are a lot of people playing armchair detectives and speculating about things they know nothing about.

Picking up the rubbish he said had been left behind by ‘tourists’, John added: ‘You’re not helping the police at all. These videos attract more people who have nothing to contribute but just want to be a part of it.

“It’s really disrespectful to Nicola’s family to have people who don’t know anything about it making comments and sticking their noses in. There are even people filming themselves digging in some of the nearby woods.” It is shocking.

It comes after TikTok detective Dan Duffy was arrested and fined for posting videos of the search scene.

Duffy, from Darwen, Lancashire, was held in police custody for 20 hours and fined £90 after being arrested a week ago on a public order offence.

Since Ms Bulley disappeared, police have tried to crack down on what they call “false information, allegations and rumours” fueled by the high public interest in the case.

The vigilantes have broadcast live their attempts to break into the allegedly abandoned house near the scene where she disappeared.

The video began with the couple walking through the copse for a few seconds before stumbling across apparently disturbed terrain.

Video of the area has been viewed and commented on by hundreds of people who have been drawn into the mystery surrounding her disappearance.

Self-proclaimed psychics and body language experts have also released videos about the case as others sift through satellite photos from home to try to find clues.

Fed up police chiefs issued a 48-hour dispersal order in the area last week following reports of people from outside St Michael’s filming near properties.

The order gave officers the power to turn away anyone who commits antisocial behavior, which has gotten so bad that locals have hired a private security firm to stop amateur detectives from peeking in their windows.

Wyre Council leader Michael Vincent told Sky News: “People have reported sitting in their living rooms on an evening watching TV and people coming to the windows, looking in, trying the doors, It’s been scary for them.”

“These are typically extremely scared seniors in their own homes.

“Residents have had to hire an outside security company, that’s just not acceptable.”

Mrs Bulley disappeared after leaving her daughters, ages six and nineat school on January 27 at St Michael’s on Wyre.

She was last seen at 9:10 am taking her usual route with her springer spaniel Willow, alongside the River Wyre.

Her phone, still connected to a call from her job as a mortgage consultant, was found just over 20 minutes later on a bench overlooking the riverfront, her dog on the loose.

A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said officers were still touring the area today, adding: “We are continuing our search for Nicola using specialist resources in the River Wyre and in the estuary.”
