A thrifty mom has shared her ‘fake’ idea of McDonald’s feeding her family of four for just $25.
The Bendigo budget man cooked four fake McChicken meals at home using chicken strips coated with mixed fine corn crumbs instead of spending more than $50 on the real thing.
He showed his ‘alternative Maccas’ in the popular moms on a budget Facebook group that impressed hundreds of members who were eager to try the recipe for themselves.

‘If you are looking for a Maccas alternative then this is for you!’ she wrote in the post.
‘The cost of four medium McChicken meals is about $50 or so. This is how I make them at home!!’
The mother said she sprinkled smoked paprika over some chicken breasts, then used an egg white bath to coat them.
She dips the chicken in a corn crumble, paprika, and salt, then cooks them in a deep fryer at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.

“I can make four ‘McChicken meals’ for just over $25,” he said.
“It would be less expensive over time since you only have to buy the spices and corn once.”
She also used mayonnaise and sriracha mayonnaise that she already had at home.
The home cook also shared everything she bought to make the inexpensive $25.95 tasty meal.
His Woolworths online order included cheese slices, relishes, chicken breasts, lettuce, brioche burger buns, fries and a bottle of coke.
Moms in the comments were impressed with the ‘fake’ quote.
