Tiger Woods made his long-awaited return on Thursday and marked the occasion by shamelessly gifting fellow player Justin Thomas a tampon after besting him at the Genesis Invitational.
The 15-time major winner was playing his first competitive round in seven months following injury, but showed no signs of rust as he posted a two-under-par 69.
It was his driving that stood out during the first round, as he consistently hit his tee shots farther than Thomas and Rory McIlroy.
As Woods and Thomas teeed off on the ninth hole, Woods again got the best of his fellow American and as the two walked down the fairway together, he slipped something into Thomas’s hand.
Thomas immediately tossed him to the ground, while Woods went into hysterics, clearly happy with his prank.

Both men saw the funny side of Woods’ prank, which came after he bested Thomas.
He then put his arm around Thomas, who was also smiling at the funny side of the incident.
Cameras quickly picked up that it was a tampon that had been put in Thomas’s hand before he threw it away.
Woods’ quip indicated that he was relaxed on the golf course, and he finished his round in some style.
The 47-year-old finished his round with three straight birdies, delighting the large crowd at the Riviera Golf Course.
He heads into the second round on Friday five shots behind the leader, which is held jointly by American duo Max Homa and Keith Mitchell.
