Exciting young Indian Test cricketer Prithvi Shaw has been filmed at the center of an altercation with fans.
A viral video shared on social media captured the Delhi Capitals’ first match in a heated argument with a female fan, who was allegedly part of a group of people who attacked Shaw.
The incident reportedly happened after Shaw refused to take selfies with two people.
According to the ANI news agency, Oshiwara police have registered a case against eight people in connection with the alleged attack on Shaw’s friend’s car.
This came after Shaw refused to take a selfie with the group for the second time. Several videos of the fight involving Shaw and a fan have surfaced on Twitter.
Shaw missed the Test series against Australia despite looting three centuries in the Indian domestic competition.
Shaw lashed out at the person filming the incident. He was also seen arguing with an unknown woman.
The incident reportedly took place in a cafeteria at the Sahara Star hotel on Wednesday.
According to a report filed by the Indian Express, Shaw was allegedly attacked with a baseball bat after he refused to take any more photos.
“While they were having dinner, two people, including a woman, approached them to take a selfie. The cricketer was initially cooperative but the two continued to harass them for more photos,” an official said.

Shaw has played 5 Tests, 6 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a single T20I for India.
He bolstered his case for a return to the national test team with a first triple century in the national Ranji Trophy tournament.
The young starter had been dropped during India’s tour of Australia in 2021 after scores of 0 and 4 in the Adelaide test match.
Shaw was also one of five Indian cricketers in isolation after being filmed sitting inside Secret Kitchen, a Chinese noodle and barbecue restaurant in Chadstone Mall after Sydney’s test in breach of Covid protocols.
