Rihanna has revealed that she wants to release her next album in 2023 after a seven-year hiatus.

The 34-year-old singer, who revealed on Sunday that she is pregnant with her second child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, said it would be “ridiculous” if she didn’t come out this year.

She said: ‘I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it would be ridiculous if it wasn’t this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.’

She added: ‘But there is this pressure that I put on myself. That if it’s not better than that then it’s not even worth it.

The star surprised fans by revealing her second pregnancy while showing off her growing baby bump during her highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday.

Rihanna, who gave birth to her first child just nine months ago, sparked a social media frenzy when she took the stage and rubbed her belly in front of a global audience of millions.

It is believed that around 200 million people watched the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

She shares her first child, who was born on May 13, 2022, with Rocky and the two have kept their growing family under the radar.

A rep for the star confirmed the baby news shortly after the performance wrapped.

The Diamonds hitmaker has apparently previously turned down opportunities to perform at the Super Bowl on several occasions before finally taking the stage this year.

The Super Bowl marked the first time Rihanna had performed on live television since 2018, when she joined DJ Khaled onstage to sing Wild Thoughts at the Grammy Awards.
