Nicola Bulley mystery: Singer Peter Andre says there are ‘more questions than answers’

Singer Peter Andre has delved into the mystery of the disappearance of mother-of-two Nicola Bulley, saying he “cannot imagine” what her distraught relatives are going through as they wait for news.
The 49-year-old artist added that “there appear to be more questions than answers” as detectives continue to look into the disappearance of Ms Bulley near St Michael’s-on-Wyre, Lancashire, on January 27.
The Mysterious Girl singer wrote about the investigation in his most recent column for New! magazine, the Daily Mirror reports.
After sounding out the River Wyre, Lancashire police scoured the sea around Morecambe Bay last week looking for the mortgage adviser, who they believe fell into the river, despite defiance by an independent investigator.
Andre wrote: ‘Like the rest of the nation, I have been saddened by the disappearance of Nicola Bulley, who was still missing as I wrote this. It’s such a strange story.
Singer Peter Andre has delved into the mystery of the disappearance of mother-of-two Nicola Bulley, saying he “cannot imagine” what her distraught relatives are going through as they wait for news.
Nicola Bulley, 45, a mother of two, went missing on Friday January 27 while walking her dog at St Michael’s in Wyre, Lancashire.
If it had fallen into the river, you would expect to see slip or footprints or something on the ground. But on the other hand, if someone took her, you’d think there would be signs of a struggle as well.
It seems there are more questions than answers, that’s for sure. It’s heartbreaking and I feel so sorry for her and her family.”
The lead investigator, Superintendent Sally Riley, said last week that the police investigation had been reviewed by the National Crime Agency and that they found no new lines of inquiry based on the material they had seen.
It comes as a close friend of missing mother-of-two Nicola Bulley has told of the “agony” of waiting for news, following an emotional vigil at her local village church two weeks after she went missing.
Ms Bulley, 45, and her family used to attend St Michael’s medieval church on the banks of the River Wyre in Lancashire, just a couple of hundred yards from where she disappeared.
The silent vigil was held before a small altar, with candles lit around a photo of a smiling Mrs Bulley and her partner, Paul Ansell.
Outside, along the road through the village, Mrs. Bulley’s friends met again for another roadside appeal.
Nicola Bulley and her partner Paul Ansell planned to get married soon
A distraught Ansell visited the scene of his partner’s disappearance with police last week.
The police team searching for Nicola continued their work today as the search entered its third week.

They held up banners with her picture, calling to “bring Nikki home” and requesting information.
Heather Gibbons, a family friend who attended the church vigil, said: ‘It’s the center of the community, it’s a place where we’ve often been with Nikki. She would often be here with her daughters and Paul.
“So yeah, I’m sitting there thinking about the times I’ve sat next to her, in church, and really wishing I could go back… just, yeah, wishing she was here.
‘That’s exactly what it is, it’s agonizing waiting, it’s almost hell upon hell, because the unknown is unbearable.
‘So this morning at 10 o’clock we opened the church for people to come and light a candle, just to have a chance to come, a space to collect their thoughts, to be together.
“It’s not a vigil where we’ve given up hope, it’s almost trying to create that moment of hope for everyone to continue to support each other.
“We just needed a space to be able to think, pray and collect our thoughts for the family and for Nikki.
“There has been a lovely little turnout from people who just wanted to come and have that moment.
“The family is on the worst roller coaster of their lives, still holding on to the hope that there is a chance we can get Nikki home safely.
‘They think the same thing that nothing makes sense. They are just desperate to find any evidence that points to exactly what has happened.
Ms Bulley disappeared while walking her springer spaniel dog, Willow, along the River Wyre at St Michael’s on Wyre on January 27.
She had dropped her daughters, ages six and nine, at school and was on her usual walk when she disappeared, her phone, still connected to a call from her job as a mortgage consultant, found on a bench overlooking the river.
The dog’s leash and harness on the ground of the sidewalk itself. Willow was found by a member of the public, completely dry, and apparently shaken by the disappearance of her owner.
Despite a large search of the river and surrounding countryside by Lancashire Police, no trace of her has been found.
The force has ruled out foul play and is treating the incident as a missing person investigation, believing Ms Bulley to have fallen into the water.
Two weeks ago today, 45-year-old Nicola Bulley was last seen walking her dog on a path alongside the River Wyre on Garstang Road in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire. Her friend Emma White (pictured together) is among friends holding a vigil today.
But police say they are still keeping an ‘open mind’ and asking for information.
Ms Gibbons added: “At the moment, the police have been clear as to what their working hypothesis is, but it is exactly that, it is a hypothesis.
“I have spoken to the police along with other friends and family and they have made it clear that all avenues remain open.
‘They’re encouraging everyone to keep an open mind, the words went, don’t have your blinders on.
“We have hope, we still cling to hope.”
The focus of the police search on Thursday shifted from St Michael’s to about 10 miles downstream where the river empties into the sea at Morecambe Bay, with police patrol boats and rescue boats sighted on the river and in the bay. .
