A Sydney woman has been told she will “never walk again” after being shot in the spine in her sleep.
Georgina Vlahos, 37, was allegedly shot by her boyfriend Kamal Eljamal, 32, while lying in bed.
Eljamal fired multiple rounds through the ceiling and into her room before leaving her outside a hospital and fleeing, police allege.
Dramatic CCTV footage released by police shows the moment Ms Vlahos was dropped off at hospital.
Georgina Vlahos, 37, was allegedly shot by her boyfriend Kamal Eljamal, 32, while lying in bed.
He will need specialist care for the rest of his life and will likely never walk again, police say.
Bullets hit his spinal cord and severed his spleen and liver in the shooting, according to a police fact sheet.
Police will allege that she was sleeping at her Bankstown home on January 12 when her boyfriend fired several rounds through the roof of the double garage, with bullets penetrating the floor and mattress before injuring her.
Eljamal then put her in a car and left her outside an ambulance bay at Bankstown Hospital before yelling at paramedics and fleeing the scene, police allege.
Kamal Eljamal, 32, was arrested by heavily armed officers at a Picnic Point house last Friday and will face Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.
The man rushed to the ambulance bay of Bankstown Hospital to drop off the woman.
He then allegedly returned home and put a blood-stained duvet, pillow and sheets in bags, as well as taking CCTV and his personal belongings out of his home.
Seven bullet holes were found throughout the property, with three in the garage.
Two of the bullet holes had been filled with an unknown filler in an attempt to cover the bullet hole, police allege.
Police are seen at Bankstown Hospital as they track down the man who left a woman in hospital with gunshot wounds last month.
Eljamal was arrested by heavily armed officers at a Picnic Point house last Friday and will face Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.
He has been charged with discharging a firearm with the intent to cause serious bodily injury. Police have applied for an apprehended violence warrant in his name.
Ms Vlahos has refused to speak to the police and remains in hospital.
