Manchester City received a big boost ahead of their top-table clash with Arsenal after Erling Haaland trained with the rest of the squad on Monday.
Haaland limped off a half-time win over Aston Villa with a thigh injury on Sunday, raising fears about his fitness ahead of Wednesday night’s encounter between leaders Arsenal and second-placed City at the Emirates.
Manager Pep Guardiola said his top scorer of 31 goals would be assessed after Haaland was replaced by Julián Álvarez at half-time following a collision with Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
Monday’s CFA training was just a recovery session, but the fact that Haaland was able to join his teammates on the pitch was seen as a clear sign that he is likely to be fit to face the Gunners.
The prolific Norwegian forward appeared in training photos on the club’s website, and sources also said he fulfilled his pre-game media commitments.
