The heartbroken mother of a young boy who died in an electrocution accident at a Fiji resort has written a heartbreaking post vowing to love him forever.
Cairo Winitana, 8, from Sydney, was found unconscious on a garden bed at the Club Wyndham Denarau Island resort in Fiji on Thursday night.
He was rushed to Nadi Hospital in the capital, where a nurse reported his death to police.
Cairo, a citizen of New Zealand, lived in Australia with his mother, Amber De Thierry, his father, Clarke Winitana, and an older brother and younger sister.
On Monday, his mother issued a heartbreaking tribute to her son, sharing a black-and-white photo of her kissing him on the cheek as a baby.

“I loved you my son from the moment I knew I was holding you and will love you forever more my beautiful beautiful blue eyes,” she wrote.
Friends rallied around the devastated mother as they sent their condolences and support.

Dani Hibberd added: ‘Our hearts go out to his entire family. He flies high little man.
The devastated family in Cairo now faces the daunting task of bringing his body home, and his loved ones organize a GoFundMe to help them cover travel and funeral expenses while they mourn the loss of their son.
“As everyone can imagine, this is a very devastating loss for our family,” relative Glenys Wana wrote on the fundraising page.
“We humbly invite you to offer support to both Amber and Clarke as they navigate through this unimaginable nightmare they are now forced to live with.
“We all know that Clarke and Amber are the most loving, caring and genuine people.”

A police investigation has been launched, with investigators looking into whether Cairo’s death was possibly the result of electrocution.
“Initial information collected is that the child was allegedly electrocuted, however an autopsy will have to confirm this,” Fiji Police said.
The complex has confirmed that it is assisting investigators.
“We have expressed our deepest condolences to the family and our thoughts remain with them at this time,” a spokesperson for Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific said.
“Our management team is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident and cooperating with the police and authorities.”
The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing assistance to the Cairo family.
