But nothing has come close to this. This documentary is the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt on camera as I wanted to be totally open about how I react to people in situations and if this could be related to ADHD’.
Last year, nearing his 30th birthday, Sam decided to finally get tested for ADHD and explore what a possible diagnosis might mean for him.
Sam aims to learn more about the condition and its late diagnosis, how this neurodivergence presents in different people and whether it affects relationships like hers and Zara’s, and how the medications might work.
With exclusive access to Sam’s life during this unpredictable period, complete with video diaries taken by himself, this documentary will show us a rawer side of Sam as his behavior is placed under a microscope.
He went on to say: ‘[Making the documentary] It’s been an amazing and sometimes terrifying experience, but by exploring what’s been going on inside my head, I hope people can see that we need to be more understanding before judging others.’
“I also want to encourage people to learn more about themselves and be proud of everything that makes them unique.”
Commissioning Editor Mel Bezalel said, “Sam has essentially grown up on E4. He was 21 when he first appeared in Made in Chelsea, and we all love the energy of him, the warmth of him and the creative chaos he brings to any room.”
ADHD came into the spotlight last month after comedian Johnny Vegas, 52, became the latest in a wave of celebrities to announce they had been diagnosed with the condition (others include comedian Rory Bremner, chef Heston Blumenthal and television presenters Ant McPartlin and Sue Perkins). ).
