He continued: ‘Today I wake up filled with gratitude, surrounded by people who want nothing from me, just love and support me. And best of all, I’m present to enjoy it all.’

Last year, Dan talked about his path to sobriety.

In an interview with the Daily Hive, he revealed that he attended a center to seek treatment after being ‘kicked out’ from his job at TSN.

The sportscaster admitted that the treatment center was a “complete overhaul of my lifestyle.”

He said: ‘I’m taking all those things out, including as a glass of wine or smoking a joint here and there.

“I focused on what needed to be there and what needed to change.”

‘It took me 46 years to be more present than ever.

“I feel mentally and physically better than I’ve probably ever felt in my life.”
