Christina Applegate opened up about her health issues in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times.
The 51-year-old actress shared that she gained 40 pounds after her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
It changed the way she saw herself.
“I gained 40 pounds due to inactivity and medication, and I didn’t look like myself, and I didn’t feel like myself,” the “Married… With Children” actress said.
Applegate had to film his Netflix dark comedy Dead To Me even though his body was changing. She was so upset with her appearance that she refused to watch the show, she shared.

Referencing his multiple sclerosis diagnosis, he said: “I don’t like to see myself struggling.”
The mother-of-one said: ‘At some point I was able to distance myself from my own ego and realize what a beautiful piece of television it was.
“All the scenes I wasn’t in were so much fun to see and experience for the first time,” the Los Angeles native continued.
Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis while filming the third installment of the show, which also stars Linda Cardellini as Judy Hale.
Leading the show as Jen Harding, a widowed city mother, Christina’s performance earned her a SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series.
Elsewhere in the interview, the entertainer revealed that the upcoming 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards may mark her last appearance as a working actress.
“It’s probably my last awards show as an actor, so it’s a big deal,” the Married With Child star said.
Although she won’t be on screen, Christina told the outlet that she’s looking for voice-over work.

“Doing a ton of voiceovers to make some money to make sure my daughter is fed and we’re home,” she joked.
She was referring to the child she shares with her husband Martyn LeNoble, twelve-year-old Sadie Grace LeNoble.
Dead To Me premiered in 2019 and aired its final episode in November 2022.

The comedy series follows Jen (Christina) who, after losing her husband in a hit and run, meets fellow widow Judy Hale (Linda) at a grief counseling session.
The duo forms an unlikely friendship that leads Jen to make Judy a part of her and her children’s lives.
But the drama unfolds when it is revealed that Judy is hiding a dark secret that will change life as they know it.
In her chat with the LA Times, Christina said she was “a mess every day” while filming the final season of Dead To Me while “struggling” with her multiple sclerosis symptoms.
“But most of that accident would take place by myself in my trailer,” she recalled.
The production took a five-month break so that he could undergo the treatment he needed.
