‘Changing your appearance appeals to me’: Patsy Kensit enjoys morphing into mean girls for TV roles because she can ‘play a character and move on’, after making her EastEnders debut

Patsy Kensit has said that she enjoys morphing into a bad girl for television roles because she can “play a character and move on” and “say all the things she would never say.”

The 54-year-old actress, who currently stars in EastEnders, has been in show business for 50 years and has appeared on the cast list of other soap operas in her career.

And now she’s explained what draws her to playing a mean girl on a TV show.

speaking to Mirror: ‘Changing your appearance appeals to me… you play a character and then move on.

‘You can live vicariously through the characters if you play someone who is a complete jerk and says all the things I would never say!

He added: “I’ve been in show business for 50 years, every year since I was four I’ve worked.”

Patsy also touched on her upbringing in Lambeth, South London. Her late father, James, worked for the notorious criminal brothers The Kray Twins.

Her father’s involvement in the criminal circuit meant that he was in and out of prison as she grew up.

But her school was very different, since she was educated in a convent school.

Her career took off when she joined Emmerdale as Sadie King and, in 2007, she was featured as Faye Morton in the BBC One medical drama Holby City.

It wasn’t until March 2010 that he decided to leave the show, only returning in 2019 for a one-off episode.

Patsy made her soap opera debut on EastEnders on Tuesday night as Lola Pearce’s mother.

Although the two did not interact, the storyline left fans looking forward to the next episode when the new character, named Emma Harding, set up their first meeting by booking a date with her daughter under a different name.

Emma’s introduction fits into Lola’s cancer story, which sees the mother-of-one nearing the end of her terminal diagnosis.

In the episode, Lola called her daughter’s father, Ben, and her fiancé, Jay, for moral support when she told young Lexi that her illness was fatal.

It was an emotional moment between mother and daughter, who wept profusely as they hugged each other.

But the nine-year-old had to go to school after finding out, which was where Emma was first seen in the square.
