A busy mother of two and wedding florist who had tried everything to lose weight revealed how she dropped 18lbs in 12 weeks to feel ‘amazing’ on her wedding day.

Steph Wall, 44, from Perth, said that while she was never particularly unhealthy before losing weight, her portion sizes were “too big” with energy-dense foods like rice, lentils, bread and pasta.

“I had no idea how much I should be eating and although meat and vegetables or salad made up the majority of my meals, bread and pasta were also common and I weighed 80kg,” Steph told FEMAIL.

“I also had no energy and regularly felt like I’d been hit by a truck.”

Steph ran into the Australian weight loss nutritionist bec millerthe Three Week Body Reset program after another nutritionist friend recommended it and thought she would give it a try.

“To be completely honest, I was skeptical when I started as I felt like I had tried everything and gotten nowhere in the past with weight loss,” Steph told FEMAIL.

“I’m a real foodie so I was a little worried I’d be bored and hungry all the time, but I thought it was worth a try.”

The three-week body reset is designed to help women lose weight without starving.

It also aims to banish bloating, boost women’s energy, and help them find peace with the way they eat.

The reboot promises no small meals, ‘regular store’ ingredients, a focus on gut health, and some education to set you up for long-term success.

“I followed Bec on Instagram for about a year and saw so many amazing testimonials before trying the three week body reset,” Steph said.

With the wedding in 12 weeks as her motivation, she signed up.

After a week on the show, Steph said she already felt amazing.

And when she stepped on the scale to find she had already lost 3kg, she was ‘hooked’.

“Within that week, my energy levels changed and I went from not having the energy to walk my dog to putting in an hour at the gym after a busy day at work and walking my dog,” she said.

β€œI didn’t feel like I was hit by a truck in terms of my energy levels, and best of all, I didn’t feel hungry or urge to bite my arm off. I was shocked.’

Steph explained that the recipes were ‘delicious’ and ‘easy to make’.

Most days, for breakfast, a smoothie was made, while lunch consisted of leftovers or a protein-based salad.

“For dinner, I’d have a generous meal of protein and low-carb pasta and veggies from the plan,” she said.

“I loved that treats and snacks were also included as I never felt like I was depriving myself.”

In addition to the “super easy” meal routine, the 44-year-old said she would walk and go to Pilates “most days.”

“When my energy went up so much in those first few weeks, I also started including a gym session five days a week,” Steph said.

‘My job is also very physical, a lot of heavy lifting and walking up and down stairs. My stamina improved dramatically.’

After 12 weeks, Steph said she had lost 8kg to weigh 72kg on her wedding day.

“To be honest, the biggest improvement has been in my energy,” she said.

β€œI think reminding ourselves that any journey is not linear and even making a one percent change every day soon adds up. It’s all been worth it.

Talking about Bec’s nutrition podcastSteph shared her tips for other people who want to lose weight.

He said the most important thing to pay attention to is the serving size.

Steph’s tips for lasting weight loss

1. Pay attention to your serving size: You can easily make small adjustments that do not affect the taste of what you are eating, but do affect the caloric composition.

2. Include as many foods high in protein and good fats as possible: Pay attention to how different foods make you feel, whether it’s satisfied and full or cranky and bloated.

3. Plan the week: Write out your shopping list and have your plan in place so you don’t get sidetracked.

“My diet was reasonably healthy before, but my portion sizes were huge,” she said.

“You can easily make small adjustments that don’t affect the taste of what you’re eating, but do affect the calorie composition.”

Steph’s second piece of advice is to include as many protein-rich foods and good fats as possible, and cut back on your carbs a bit.

“Pay attention to how different foods make you feel after eating them, whether it’s full and satisfied or cranky and bloated,” she said.

Then, work to include more of the good foods and cut out the bad ones.

The 44-year-old then said he needs to have the week mapped out, the grocery list written down, and his plan in place so he doesn’t get sidetracked.

“It’s good to look ahead in your journal to see when you’ll need to stay at work as well so you’re prepared with quick, easy and healthy options and not be tempted to order UberEats,” he said.

Finally, he said that you just have to take one step at a time and take action along the way.

“Measure yourself along the way and record where you are,” Steph said.

‘You should never feel bad about investing in your health. If I had had this energy in my 30s when my kids were little, who knows what life would have been like.”
