‘Wolf’ financial influencer Tyson Scholz selling $4.6m Gold Coast mansion at a loss

A Lamborghini-driving stock trader who calls himself the ‘ASX Wolf’ is selling his lavish Gold Coast mansion just weeks after a court found he was running an unlicensed financial advice business.
Tyson Scholz, a financial influencer with 21,000 Instagram followers, has listed his beachfront home in exclusive Sanctuary Cove for $4.6 million.
The five-bedroom mansion with a private jetty and marble floors sells for just $300,000 more than Scholz paid for it 10 months ago; it is estimated to be a net loss after stamp duty and interest are taken into account.
It comes after Scholz and his glamorous partner, Sophie Lee Anderson, tied the knot after returning from a world tour of Paris, Greece, Switzerland and Dubai.
The sale also comes as the 37-year-old faces an interest rate cliff, with his loan deal rising to 18 percent on April 11 after being locked in at 9.9 percent for 12 months, according to him AFR.
However, Scholz, who has regularly boasted about his life of luxury, told AFR that his estimate that he would have a net loss on the property was “incorrect.”

Six weeks ago, the Brisbane Federal Court found that Scholz had broken the law by running a financial services business through his Instagram and Twitter accounts @ASXWOLF_TS between March 2020 and November 2021 without a license.
During that time, Scholz posted photos of his Lamborghini Aventador with the license plate ‘ASX Bull’ and a Ferrari GTB with an ‘ASX Wolf’ plate.
He also showed photos of himself drinking Dom Perignon, trading shares on a yacht, and in idyllic destinations with his then-fiancée.
In January 2021, he posted on Instagram that he had made $132,866.91 in one trading day, bragging that he was “making 1 million in profit in 28 weeks.”
However, in its December 20 ruling of last year, the Federal Court found that the use of Instagram, webinars and the social media messaging service Discord to ‘inflate’ stocks did not fall within financial services laws on the provision of financial advice.
The ruling was seen as a landmark victory against social media financial influencers, or “finfluencers.”
corporate watchdog, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (SO C), said Scholz’s breach of the Public Limited Companies Act was a warning to “those who discuss financial products and services on social media.”
Sophie Lee posted this photo to Instagram on February 1 with the caption “post-wedding recovery lunch.”

Scholz has strenuously denied that he ran a financial services business that required a license.
The sale of his Gold Coast mansion comes just over a year after he was caught faking an elaborate wedding proposal using a helicopter and private jet.
Social media posts he made in December 2021 suggested that he had proposed to Ms Anderson as part of an affair that included a flight across the Queensland-NSW border and back to the Gold Coast.
The posts came to the attention of Queensland Police as the border crossing may have breached the Covid restrictions in place at the time.
Anyone wanting to enter Queensland in December 2021 was required to complete a border application and test negative for Covid up to 72 hours before entry..

However, the police investigation found that the images of a plane used in the posts were old and that Scholz had not left the state.
The marriage proposal itself was real and included a helicopter tour of the Gold Coast.
It is not suggested that Ms Anderson was aware of the Scholz dealings subject to the ASIC investigation.
However, Scholz $320,000 yellow Lamborghini turned out to be a lease and was later impounded by police for multiple speeding violations.
On February 1, Ms Anderson posted a photo of herself in front of a flower garland at the luxurious Surfers Paradise hotel, The Langham, with the caption “post-wedding recovery lunch”.
Scholz and Ms. Anderson recently returned from several months of vacation in Europe and the Middle East.
