Josh Sills: Philadelphia Eagles NFL player indicted on rape, kidnapping charges ahead of Super Bowl

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills is indicted on rape and kidnapping charges just days before the Super Bowl.
Josh Sills, an offensive linesman for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been indicted on rape and kidnapping charges, just 10 days before the Super Bowl.
Sills, who is six feet six inches tall and weighs 325 pounds, is alleged to have “engaged in non-consensual sexual activity and held a victim against her will.”
Ohio prosecutors said Wednesday that Sills “restrained and forcibly raped a female” in December 2019, prompting the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office to launch an investigation into the incident.
Following the investigation, a grand jury indicted Sills, 25, on felony rape and felony kidnapping, and he is expected to appear in court on February 16.
Sills went undrafted in the 2022 draft, but was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in April and made their final roster, playing the Cardinals in week five.

Sills went undrafted last year, but was set to head to the Super Bowl with the Eagles next week.
On the Eagles’ depth chart, he’s listed as a second choice at right guard and had a good chance of getting some playing time in the Super Bowl on February 12.
It is currently unclear if he will continue to travel with the team to the game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Arizona, or if he will remain on the team’s roster.
As it stands, he is scheduled to appear in court on February 16, just four days after the conclusion of the Super Bowl.
The Eagles have yet to comment publicly on the allegation.
Sills went to high school in Meadowbrook, Ohio, before playing college football first for West Virginia from 2016-19, and then at Oklahoma State in 2020-21.
His parents, John and Kim, made headlines in 2021 after an article revealed that they had traveled to all but one of their son’s games, racking up more than 232,000 miles in their 2013 Nissan Altima.
His NFL career currently has just four snaps, with right guard, and sometimes tackle, appearing briefly against the Arizona Cardinals in week five.
