Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines has had a sensational crack at the Crows ahead of this weekend’s Showdown, blasting the ‘DNA of the club’ and their ‘sense of entitlement’.
The Brownlow Medallist was pulling no punches when asked about the relationship between the crosstown rivals, which appears to be as frosty as ever.
It comes as Power coach Chad Cornes said he ‘hated them as a footy club’ while defender Darcy Byrne-Jones put it simply: ‘I don’t really like their club.’
It’s set the scene for a fiery last-round clash that is not only for Showdown honours, could potentially decide which club finishes higher on the ladder.

‘I won’t get too personal … (but) there are certain things about that football club (Adelaide) I do not like. I think it’s just the DNA of the club and what they’re about,’ Wines told 7News.
‘A sense of entitlement (as well); but I’m really proud of my football club and we’ll be doing everything we can to knock them off.’
Wines’ comments come as Adelaide’s culture comes in for possibly the heaviest criticism in the side’s history.
Club favourite Eddie Betts levelled some stunning accusations at the club in his autobiography, ‘The Boy From Boomerang Crescent’.

He said the Crows hierarchy silenced him when he wanted to reveal a disgusting, racist letter he received from a fan ahead of the league’s Indigenous round.
Betts also revealed he raised concerns about a club training camp, which led to him being dumped from the leadership group.
Then-captain Taylor Walker copped a big suspension last year for using a racial slur against another player in a SANFL match, after two disappointing seasons that saw the Crows finish last and 15th, respectively.

Of course, none of that will matter to the Crows come Saturday evening, when the two rivals clash in front of a huge crowd at the Adelaide Oval.
Wines will be one of the key players for the Power as they look to send club legend Robbie Gray out on a high after the 270-gamer announced his retirement earlier this week.

Of course, the Showdown has featured many a spiteful clash.
Famously, Crows premiership player and current board member Mark Ricciuto chucked Power midfielder Josh Carr over a car bonnet outside an Adelaide pub the day after Port had beaten Adelaide in a Showdown.
The first-ever Showdown in 1997, when Port joined the competition, was also fiery.
Crows fullback Rod Jameson was sent from the field for some strange fisticuff that seemed to lack any coordination, while you would need a lot of hands to count the amount of brawls that have taken place throughout the years.
All eyes will be on Wines to see how many Crows players get in a push and shove with the Power star just prior to the opening bounce.
