Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has revealed that he’s glad his character is upsetting fans.
In Lawrence’s current story, her character Mackenzie is cheating on Charity (Emma Atkins) with Chloe (Jessie Elland), who is also having her baby.
But while it has left some fans furious and they have mistaken the actor for the character, making their attacks on him personal, Lawrence shared that he knows strong opinions and reactions from viewers are a positive thing.

Talking with him Subwayhe said, “You need to take the hard and the soft with that kind of thing and just know that what you’re doing as a character is a good job, because it’s creating these reactions in viewers, so I guess that’s a good thing.”
He also opened up about his story, admitting that he was surprised at how it turned out after Noah stalked Chloe.
Lawrence said: “The irony is that Mackenzie was very involved in helping Noah get over it when he was involved in the bullying, and then he does what he does,” he said.
‘So yeah, it was surprising but juicy. I think when we finished the script of us sleeping together, I don’t think we knew it was going to end with a pregnancy. That was another bombshell that it’s really fun to play with that way and see how the characters deal with the arc of it all.
He explained that although he doesn’t support his character’s actions, he enjoys playing him and just does what’s written in the script, like all actors.

It comes after it was revealed that Sarah Sugden will return to hospital in next week’s Emmerdale, after once again hearing of a fight between Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris.
The teen, who has battled health issues in the past, will leave her loved ones terrified when she begins to have difficulty breathing, leaving Mack and Chloe wondering whether to confess to their one-night stand.
Mack has refused to tell his partner Charity about his affair with Chloe, which resulted in her getting pregnant, but now Sarah has listened to the couple once again: will she reveal their secret?
SPOILER: Sarah Sugden is due to rush back to the hospital in Emmerdale next week, after once again overhearing a fight between Mackenzie and Chloe.
In the next few scenes, Mack (Lawrence Robb) tries to join in on Charity’s light-hearted banter, but remains haunted by the secret guilt he carries.
The next day, Mackenzie reveals to Chloe (Jessie Elland) that she is going to tell Charity (Emma Atkins) about the baby, but neither of them realize that Sarah has just come out of her room and heard them from above.
Chloe is taken aback when she realizes that Mackenzie won’t back down and tell Charity the truth today, and he encourages her to leave, despite her insistence that she has nowhere to go.
As Sarah still listens upstairs, Chloe remains determined to stand her ground and stay, insisting that Mackenzie won’t throw her to the wolves.

Then, just as Mackenzie and Chloe are about to reveal their secret to Charity, Sarah stumbles down the stairs, gasping for breath.
Charity instructs Mack to call an ambulance as Sarah hyperventilates, and A&E takes the teen away for medical treatment.
Mack holds an emotional Charity and looks at Chloe; it seems the couple’s plans to tell the truth are on hold.
At odds: Just as Mackenzie and Chloe are about to reveal their secret to Charity, Sarah stumbles down the stairs, gasping for breath.
Annoyed Charity confides in Mackenzie, worried about Sarah’s life expectancy, given the health problems she has had in the past.
Chloe watches a doctor walk purposefully towards them and Charity stands terrified, knowing there is news.
Will Sarah pull through? And will she reveal the explosive secret of Mack and Chloe’s baby?
