Tottenham confirm the loan of Djed Spence to Rennes for the rest of the season, with the 22-year-old fighting for playing time at Spurs since joining in the summer
Tottenham full-back Djed Spence has joined Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old arrived from Middlesbrough over the summer but has struggled to play in north London.
His move to France comes as a surprise after previously being linked with various Premier League clubs.

The 22-year-old has struggled to play for north London since signing in July.
Spence was an integral part of Nottingham Forest’s promotion push last season while on loan at Steve Cooper’s side, but has struggled to get going at Spurs.
After coming in for £20m over the summer, he played just six games in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side.
Spence would likely have fallen further down the pecking order had he stayed, with Sporting Lisbon star Pedro Porro expected to join Spurs on deadline day.
Despite his disappointing start to life at the club, the promising full-back may still have a chance to redeem himself as his loan does not include a purchase option.

He will join a team in a similar league position to Tottenham, with Rennes sitting fifth in Ligue 1 and ten points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Joe Rodon, also on loan from the north London club, has been a regular in Rennes’ defense this season.
Spurs are set to lose another right-back on deadline day as Matt Doherty is on the brink of a loan deal with Atletico Madrid.
