Leicester Tigers sign former Harlequins and England fullback Mike Brown on a short-term deal while Richard Wigglesworth adds cover during the Six Nations
- Mike Brown has been without a club since the Falcons failed to extend his contract
- The Tigers took him to trial and gave him a chance to prove his fitness.
- Now they have secured him to a short-term deal during the Six Nations.
Mike Brown signed a short-term contract with Leicester after Sportsmail revealed that the former England fullback had joined the Tigers on a trial basis.
Brown, who earned 72 caps, had not played for a club after leaving Newcastle at the end of last season. He previously had a brilliant 16-year spell with the Harlequins.
Now the 37-year-old is back at the English rugby club after joining Leicester and will provide back-line cover at Welford Road.

“Joining a club like this with all its history is incredible,” Brown said. ‘When Leicester offer you the chance to get into the scene, it’s hard to turn it down.
‘Having the chance to get into the environment has been great so far and a really positive experience for me.
‘I’ve felt strong and I still believe I have a role to play in the game. I didn’t think it was my time to stop because I felt good and still feel good. I have stayed in shape.
