Patrick Mahomes admitted that he “didn’t feel right” during the Kansas City Chiefs’ dramatic 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals to claim the AFC title.
Mahomes’ state of health dominated the headlines in the buildup to the big championship game after he was injured in his team’s playoff win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He limped out of the game after going awkwardly under an Arden Key tackle in the first quarter, before seeing the rest of the game out, cautiously navigating his high ankle sprain.

Mahomes suffered a late hit that put the Chiefs in field goal range and they won 23-20
But Mahomes delivered when it mattered with a five-yard run on his final play, which eventually led to Harrison Butker’s final game-winning field goal.
The 27-year-old has revealed that the game was a struggle and that he actually ‘pinched’ his troublesome right ankle in Sunday’s clash.
‘I definitely wasn’t feeling well. I think the worst was when I messed up. I tried to pick it up, and that was probably the worst thing I modified it during the game,” she said after the game.

“They got me as close as they could to 100 percent. Then I wrestled and I’ll have a few more weeks to get it ready.
