The League One hosts, who are also the top scorers in their division, got off to a good start and could have gone ahead in the second minute if George Hirst, played by Kayden Jackson, had scored.

Jay Rodriguez came close with a shot up before Clarets goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell had to deflect Jackson’s effort from a tight angle.
Beyer was lucky to stay on the field after going over Jackson’s body as the first half ended goalless.

The Czech was needed again seconds later to deflect a shot from Rodríguez, who was imagining his chances of beating him from outside the area.
Ipswich were against, but defender Luke Woolfenden scored with a flick after Burnley struggled to clear a corner.
Moroccan international Anass Zaroury came close to putting the visitors ahead in the second half
Both teams made a triple substitution around the hour mark, and soon after Burnley debuted new signing Lyle Foster, the South African striker.
It was his teammate Anass Zaroury who almost broke the deadlock, but the man who scored a brace in a 4-2 win at Bournemouth in the third round saw his shot go wide.
Town substitute Conor Chaplin almost caught Peacock-Farrell with another cross in stoppage time, but it followed up scoreless.
