‘Why wouldn’t you want to learn from the GOAT, man?’: Patrick Mahomes reveals Tom Brady gave him advice this week ahead of the Chiefs’ HUGE AFC Championship showdown

When it comes to winning big games, Patrick Mahomes needs little advice…but if Tom Brady offers to help, it’s wise not to turn it down.

And that’s the exact scenario the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback found himself in this week, when he was called up by the GOAT before this weekend’s AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Brady himself is a seven-time Super Bowl champion, and Mahomes is desperate to add a second ring to his own collection. Getting in his way before that is possible, however, is a tough matchup against the Bengals in Arrowhead.

“I talked to Tom a little bit, I have a good relationship with him now,” Mahomes told reporters on Thursday. He gives me a lot of advice. Why wouldn’t you want to learn from the GOAT, man? Every time someone like that wants to give me advice, I’ll take it into account.

Earlier in the week, Brady had commented on Mahomes’ “toughness” on his podcast, “Go!”, when he was joined by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

“He’s a tough guy and I told him this the other night,” Brady said. ‘That’s what champions are made of at the end of the day.

“I really respect Patrick for how he came out in the second half and how angry he was when Coach Reid cut him off.”

The Chiefs are the narrow favorites to win the AFC Championship game on Sunday night, but both games are almost too close to decide.

The winner of the AFC title showdown will face either the Philadelphia Eagles or the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVII in Arizona on February 12.
