Molly Meldrum looks in high spirits and reveals how she feels about turning 80 as she celebrates the landmark birthday, after pleasing the crowd on stage at the Elton John concert.
Molly Meldrum turns 80 on Sunday and he was celebrating early on Friday.
The music legend turned up for a party at the Australian Music Vault in Melbourne, where he was presented with a cake.
It featured images of Kylie Minogue, Tina Arena, Michael Gudinski and Archie Roach.

Molly, who appeared in good health and high spirits, was also presented with a bouquet of flowers from Kylie herself to celebrate the milestone.
“I’m very happy,” Molly told the former Countdown host. the heralding sun to reach the ripe old age of 80 years.
“I feel good about turning 80. It’s been an amazing journey with all my friends,” added the TV star.

The legendary Australian music critic, 79, was watching his old friend Sir Elton in the crowd at AAMI Park for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Meldrum said he felt “bittersweet” and “sad” about the British icon’s last concert, before Elton brought him on stage.
“I’m very happy,” Molly told former Countdown host Herald Sun of reaching the ripe age of 80.
“I feel good about turning 80. It’s been an incredible journey with all my friends,” he added.
Earlier this month, Molly appeared on stage with Elton John in Melbourne, with viewers mooning over Meldrum.
Speaking about Countdown Compere, the I’m Still Standing hitmaker said: “Honestly, it’s a national treasure.”
