A woman fired from a video game company for following conservative Twitter accounts says she follows all types of users and tries to keep politics out of the workplace.

Kara Lynne was fired from Limited Run Games earlier this month, following an online protest led by a trans activist who accused her of being “a transphobe following a true who’s who of right-wing transphobes.”

‘The funny thing about this is that the accounts: I follow the accounts of all political affiliations. I’m the type of person who likes to see from all directions, so I follow a variety of accounts,” Lynne said in an interview with foxnews Thursday.

Lynne said that Limited Run Games, where she had worked since November 2020, was actually more concerned with the online reaction than the types of Twitter accounts she followed.

‘It was more because of the publicity he was getting. That was the main thing. They had no qualms about knowing who they were following or anything like that,” she said.

Kara Lynne spoke in an interview with Fox News on Thursday after she was fired followed by online protests over the Twitter accounts she follows.

Lynne also spoke at length about the incident in a separate interview with youtuber Eric July, rapper and libertarian commentator.

“It hurt,” she said of being fired. ‘I wasn’t mad at [the company]because from a public relations perspective, being in a marketing position, you have to understand where they were coming from with this.’

However, he added, “I wish they would have backed me.”

Lynne said that both on social media and in the workplace, she tried to avoid political controversies, saying, “First of all, I’m not a political person.”

“I usually keep to myself, politically, in the workplace, just because I don’t feel like that, my beliefs don’t need to be pushed on anyone else,” she said.

“I’ve always been very adamant about that, like you do it, I’ll do it,” he added.

Lynne was fired on January 6, hours after activist Jessica Blank, a trans woman and activist who goes by the nickname Purple Tinker, publicly accused Lynne of being a “transphobic.”

Blank shared screenshots of accounts followed by Lynne and said he would stop buying limited-run games until Lynne, who was the company’s community manager, was fired.

Lynne believes the complaint was triggered because she tweeted her excitement about the release of a new Harry Potter-themed video game, which some people have threatened to boycott due to JK Rowling’s views on trans issues.

Blank tweeted to Limited Run Games complaining that Lynne’s “transphobic followings” included Libs from TikTok, which shares videos made by liberal social media users, YouTuber Blaire White and right-wing commentator Ian Miles Cheung.

Blank also shared a tweet written by Lynne in May 2016 that read, “If you think the number of trans crying over using the bathroom is higher than perverts.” [sic] using the excuse, you are what is wrong in this world.’

Blank said, “Unless and until I’m fired from the company permanently, I won’t give them another dime.”

Hours later, Lynne was fired.

A statement from Limited Run Games said: ‘LRG respects all personal opinions, however we remain committed to supporting an inclusive culture. While investigating a situation, an employee was terminated.

“Our goal as a company is to continue to foster a positive and safe environment for everyone.”

The statement sparked an angry backlash from customers who said they would no longer shop with the company.

Cheung replied, ‘What the hell, guys?’

Lynne said she believes the incident is related to a tweet she made on December 28 that said she was “excited” about the release of Hogwarts Legacy, a video game based on the world of Harry Potter.

Some trans activists say that buying or playing the game is ‘harmful’ due to JK Rowling’s comments on gender, including her mocking the use of the term “menstruating people” instead of “women”.

Lynne believes that her support of the game caused Blank to take a closer look at her Twitter account and then complain about what she found.

she told the National Review: ‘There’s a very, very big discourse in the gaming sphere where a lot of people are saying, “If you support this game in any way, you’re also supporting JK Rowling.”

“I have a feeling this is where it came from.”

Lynne issued a statement Sunday saying she was fired in a call on Jan. 6, the same day Blank tweeted her complaints.

Lynne said: ‘On that call, I will say there were a lot of emotions. I could tell they didn’t want to do what they were doing and I even said they didn’t want to. They were being pressured from other places.

“From what they told me, no other options presented themselves. But they are giving me a decent severance and allowing me to keep my health insurance for another couple of months.

‘They had never written or reprimanded me. I had never abused my power or my personal opinions on the different social channels. I even refrained from commenting or interacting with any political content or controversial topics on my personal social media accounts.

Apparently this isolated incident was all it took. At least that’s what I’ve been led to believe. If there was another reason, they did not inform me.

‘They didn’t want the bad publicity and I can understand that. Unfortunately, I feel like that went wrong for them.

He added that he “has no hatred towards anyone who was involved in the firing,” including his bosses.

Lynne said: ‘If we could get anything out of this situation, it would be to expose the dangers of cancel culture.

I have always opposed and expressed disagreement with the way it is handled. It can be detrimental to all parties involved. If you don’t like something, vote with your wallet and move on.

Blank gained a modest following online through her Purple Tinker accounts after she founded BronyCon, a convention for adult and teen fans of My Little Pony. The event was last held in 2019.

He has been in court controversy in the past over accusations of online harassment. She has previously said: ‘I hold within me a monstrous, indiscriminate anger, and when it comes out I become a nightmare.’
