A Connecticut investment banker jumped to his death from a rooftop bar in New York City, one day after filing for divorce.
Dale Cheney, 46, committed suicide Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. by jumping from Bar 54 at the Hyatt Centric in Times Square.
Cheney, a father of three, filed for divorce from his wife a day earlier.
In October, aspiring model Elizabeth Gaglewski took her own life in the same bar.
The bar said in a statement it was “truly heartbroken” but has yet to confirm whether it will make any changes to its outdoor terrace to prevent more suicides.
The Harvard-educated banker had just filed for divorce. He is shown in a photo on his LinkedIn page.

“We are truly heartbroken by the situation that occurred outside our rooftop bar tonight, and we keep the victim’s family and friends in our hearts and thoughts,” general manager Tom Bundell said.
Cheney’s family in New Canaan, Connecticut, declined to comment Thursday.
The New York Post reports that he and his wife filed for divorce just one day before he took his own life, and that police previously responded to his home twice in 2008 for domestic disturbance calls.
One of the arguments was about finances, according to the Post.
Dale and his wife Lauren live in a sprawling home in New Canaan, an affluent Connecticut suburb. They bought their house in 2018 for $1.6 million.

His death comes just four months after 26-year-old Elizabeth Gaglewski jumped from the same bar.
At the time, friends told DailyMail.com that Elizabeth seemed “happy” before leaving the family home in Queens.
They added that she had “struggled to cope” after her father’s death and had suffered from depression.
He landed on a 27th floor balcony, but did not survive.
