Sheffield United held off a late rally from 10-man Sunderland to earn their second league win of the season. 

The Black Cats had 20-year-old Dan Neil sent off after just 31 minutes and the Blades made their advantage count soon after as Anel Ahmedhodzic headed home Oliver Norwood’s corner. 

Max Lowe doubled the lead two minutes after half-time before Lynden Gooch’s classy chip got the visitors back in the game, but they could not find an equaliser.
