Grammy Awards 2023: Lizzo, Bad Bunny and Sam Smith lead the first round of artists

Lizzo, Bad Bunny and Sam Smith headline the first round of artists for the glittering 2023 Grammy Awards, taking place on February 5.

About Damn Time hitmaker Lizzo, 34, will be looking to add to her three Grammy wins as the star is nominated in five categories.

Two-time Grammy winner Bad Bunny, 28, is nominated in three categories, including Album of the Year for A Summer Without You, while four-time Grammy winner Sam Smith, 30, will perform the nominated hit Unholy with Kim Petras, 30.

Artists also taking the stage include Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs and Steve Lacy, with more musical guests to be announced in the coming days.

Beyonce leads the way with an incredible nine Grammy nominations, tying the record for the most all-time nominations with a total of 88.

The 40-year-old star garnered the same number of total nominations as her own husband Jay-Z with 88, while the 52-year-old mogul held the previous record of 83 and racked up another five, bringing them to the same total.

Not far behind Queen Bey were British singing megastars Adele and Harry Styles, who scored seven and six, respectively.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar had the second most nominations with eight, while singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile also tied Adele with seven.

Beyonce, Adele, Harry, Kendrick, and Brandi will go head-to-head in several different categories, including top honor album of the year.

First prize features an impressive and extensive field including ABBA – Voyage, Adele – 30, Bad Bunny – Un Verano Sin Ti, Beyoncé – Renaissance, Brandi Carlile – In These Silent Days, Coldplay – Music of the Spheres, Harry Styles – Harry’s House, Kendrick Lamar – Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, Lizzo – Special and Mary J. Blige – Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe).

Along the same lines comes record of the year, which is awarded for a single or track from an album and once again featured the top three stars, including: Beyoncé – Break My Soul, Adele – Easy on Me and Harry Styles. – How was it.

It won’t be an easy road to the top, as they’ll take on ABBA – Don’t Shut Me Down, Brandi Carlile featuring Lucius – You and Me on the Rock, Doja Cat – Woman, Kendrick Lamar – The Heart Part 5, Lizzo – About Damn Time, Mary J. Blige – Good Morning Gorgeous and Steve Lacy – Bad Habit.

The Grammy Awards will be presented on February 5, 2023 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
