Rahul Mishra, whose flagship store is located in the trendy Mehrauli neighborhood of Delhi, has based his latest line on the cosmos.

‘This collection is the most labor-intensive collection we’ve ever done,’ he said in a recent interview with indian fashion. ‘I think every outfit has been a labor of love, the Cosmos collection is a difficult idea to interpret in clothing.’

He explained his inspiration: ‘When you look at galaxies and interstellar bodies in the sky, you think that’s the cosmos. But if you look at yourself, you will find so many details that make up a person, it is almost a parallel cosmos that exists.’

The designer shared that his latest collection “borrows a very spiritual quote: ‘Yat Pinde Tat Brahmande’, which translates to what lies within you as well.”

“When I look at India or Paris, the global market versus the Indian market, or the bridal genre, for example, we can accommodate certain ideas in different ways,” she told Vogue India in her new interview. “But the process, the spirit behind its creation, the philosophy and the artworks are quite similar.”

By way of example, she said: “Sometimes bodies can also be similar structures, there’s nothing wrong with calling a lehenga a paneled skirt. I’m experimenting with that this time, along with some beautiful dresses.”
