New trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

A new trailer for the highly anticipated Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was released on Monday.

The adaptation of the iconic game created by E. Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson in 1974 features a star-studded cast including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Rege-Jean Page.

This new trailer had more spikes than the previous one, which debuted in July at Comic-Con.

The new trailer opens and the protagonists are asked to kneel, but instead they fight the bag guys with Pine trying to remove the ropes from his wrists.

We then find out that the ‘red wizards created an army of the undead’, which is proving very troublesome for the crew.

‘How are we going to accomplish this?’ Rodriguez asks as Pine says they need a team.

Chases, explosions and Hugh Grant ensue as it becomes clear that the journey will not be easy.

Grant is also seen looking down at Pine in agony as a snake coils around his mouth. Hugh says that he doesn’t want to see Chris die, so he’ll just walk out of the room.

Throughout the clip, Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love plays.

The film opens in March 2023.

Trailer: Paramount Pictures shared a new trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on Monday

Much of the same was covered in the July trailer.

Pine’s character was seen saying, ‘Here’s the thing. We’re a team of thieves, and when you do this, you’re sure to make enemies.

He is seen with the rest of his team, played by Page, Rodriguez, Lillis and Justice Smith, grabbing a golden helmet, as Pine adds, “Sometimes those enemies come looking for revenge.”

The next shot shows a battlefield as a dragon pounces on his head, while Pine and his team are seen running for cover.

Team: The July trailer started with Pine’s character saying, ‘Here’s the thing. We’re a team of thieves, and when you do this, you’re sure to make enemies.

Helmet – He is seen with the rest of his team, played by Page, Rodriguez, Lillis and Justice Smith, taking on a golden helmet, while Pine adds, “Sometimes those enemies come looking for revenge.”

“Actually, we helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing,” Pine says, showing off a red horn that has some kind of nefarious purpose.

“We didn’t intend to unleash the greatest evil the world has ever known,” adds Pine, as villainous characters are seen wielding that evil power.

Pine adds, “But we’ll fix it,” while Rodriguez asks how they’ll pull it off, though he’s at a loss for words.

Wrong: “Actually, we helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing,” Pine says, showing off a red horn that has some kind of nefarious purpose.

“Find out over a drink?” she asks, as Pine immediately replies, “Probably better” as they start walking, apparently towards a pub.

Pine adds that if they’re going to have a ‘fighting chance’, they’ll need strength, which is apparently provided by Rodriguez, who has seen several knights taken out.

Pine adds that they will also need courage, which Page provides, magic, wielded by Smith, “and you,” he said, looking at Lillis.

Drink: ‘Find out over a drink?’ she asks, as Pine immediately replies, ‘Probably better’ as they start walking, apparently towards a pub.

The trailer also shows a series of quick shots, including Hugh Grant’s character, along with a series of complicated visual effects shots.

Owlbear – The next shot shows Lillis turning into a huge creature, which Smith tells Pine is an ‘owlbear’ in order to take down a few more enemies before transforming back into her human form.

Our Side: The trailer ends with a series of shots that include Page fighting various enemies as Rodriguez adds, “I’m glad he’s on our side.”

Hugh’s Character: The trailer also shows a number of quick shots, including Hugh Grant’s character, along with a number of complicated visual effects shots.

The trailer comes to a close with Pine saying, “But whatever happens, we’ll be ready” and a shot where Lillis asks Pine what he brings to this particular operation.

I am a planner. I make plans,’ he says, though Lillis replies that she has already made the plan, though she adds, ‘If the existing plan fails, I make a new plan,’ and Lillis adds, ‘So you make plans that fail?’

Rodriguez adds, “He also plays the lute,” while Pine adds, “It’s not relevant,” as we see a quick shot of him playing the lute as the trailer draws to a close.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be released in theaters on March 3, 2023.
