An Australian man has died after a gang of cyclists ran him off the road in Thailand and crashed into a light pole.
Graeme Foster, 59, was riding a Lambretta scooter when ‘five mystery bikers’ chased him down a dark road in Pattaya on January 21 around 11:30 p.m.
The expat engineer and father of two was returning home from a night out as his Thai wife, Kittiyaphon, and their daughters rode in a car behind him along with a friend who was also riding a motorcycle.
Foster’s wife, 46, said he speeded up when youths on motorcycles surrounded him on the highway, ViralPress reported.

Moments later, Mr. Foster lost control and crashed into a power pole, and the gang sped away.
Ms Foster found him unconscious with serious injuries and called the emergency services.
Medics struggled to revive Mr. Foster as he had no pulse, several broken ribs and a large gash on his left thigh.
In heartbreaking video, Mr. Foster is seen receiving CPR as paramedics desperately tried to save him.
Even after he was placed on a stretcher, a machine continued to perform CPR on him.
But they were unable to revive him and Mr. Foster was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“We ate with friends and family at a restaurant,” his wife told police.
‘When we got back home, my husband took his motorcycle while I was driving with the children.
“I realized something was wrong when a group of four or five motorcycles gave chase.

‘It looked like they were harassing him. My husband sped up and we fell behind.
‘I don’t know what they did to my husband, but he lost control and fell.’

He said the teens tried to start a fight with them and chased them for no reason.
Lieutenant Colonel Thithat Trunchan of the Nong Prue Police said: ‘We interviewed the villagers who lived in the isolated area and some told (the officers) that they heard curses at the time the incident occurred.

“We will also look at the security cameras to find the other cyclists involved in the incident,” he said.
He Pattaya News reported that Ms Foster said her husband had a few drinks at dinner but was not drunk.
Nongprue police found a small amount of marijuana at the scene of the accident.
Locals said two other people recently died after running into the same pole as Mr Foster.
Police reportedly believe road rage was a factor in what happened, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
Foster’s LinkedIn profile stated that he had “worked for some of the world’s leading corporations, including Shell, BP, Mobil, Woodside, Caltex, Ampol, United KG, Worley Parsons, Santos, and ConocoPhillips.”
In addition to working in Thailand, he has also worked in China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Singapore.
