Phil Foden is struggling with a nagging foot injury that could keep him out of Manchester City’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal on Friday.
Foden, who has started just three Premier League games since mid-October, suffered the problem during a 2-1 loss to Manchester United on January 14.
The Citizens have survived since the English star was left out. Despite a slow start, they accounted for Tottenham in midweek, before an Erling Haaland-inspired thrashing of Wolves.

Pep Guardiola revealed that the issue has yet to be resolved, with Foden feeling sore after trying to train in preparation for yesterday’s win at Wolves.
‘It was an action at Old Trafford, a jump with (Aaron) Wan-Bissaka. He fell and had a foot problem,” Guardiola said.
He’s been struggling with it. It is painful. After two or three days of rest he improves and starts (to play) and gets off.
Foden was injured during an air clash with Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
So we have decided that he stays with the doctors and recovers well to see if he can get there against Arsenal.
If he’s not fit, we’ll wait until the next game against Spurs (February 5). He can’t train well, he’s a bit uncomfortable, so we decided to give him a few days off.”
Arsenal will arrive in the North West on Friday in stellar form, fresh off a stunning 3-2 win against Manchester United on Sunday.
