A man was found dying on the side of the road after he was allegedly stabbed less than a kilometer from his home with two teenagers in custody.
The 41-year-old man was found slumped to the ground along Newmarket Road in Wilston, Brisbane, at 1:40am on Sunday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and found that he had suffered serious injuries. Paramedics tried to treat him at the scene before he died.
A 17-year-old boy was detained after allegedly being found with a 45cm knife or ‘small machete’, and a 17-year-old girl turned herself in to police.
The man was found collapsed on the ground along Newmarket Road in Wilston, in Brisbane, at 1:40am on Sunday.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said police believed the 41-year-old man had been stabbed near his home.
“We believe he was stabbed near where he fell,” he said.
‘These scenes are horrible. These cowardly attacks are abominable, there is no place for them in society.
Police set up a crime scene and opened an investigation into the man’s death.
The 17-year-old who was arrested is known to the police.
Neither the boy nor the teenager have been charged in connection with the incident.
