Trans Woman Christynne Wood Responds To ‘Naked’ YMCA Wardrobe Claims In Santee

>

The trans woman accused of ‘terrorizing’ a 17-year-old girl in the women’s locker room of a California YMCA has responded to the claims, insisting she was not parading nude as suggested, and labeling her critics ‘Neanderthals’.

Christynne Wood, 66, began the transition in 2016, around the same time she sued her former gym for not allowing her to use the women’s locker rooms.

As of December 2021, she had not undergone buttock surgery.

Earlier this month, she was accused of ‘terrorizing’ 17-year-old Rebecca Phillips in the women’s locker room at the Santeee YMCA.

Rebecca appeared before City Council to ask for a rule change, saying she had seen “a naked man in the women’s locker room.” She did not name Wood, nor did she say that she had seen a penis, and she has since clarified that she only saw her ‘butt’.

Christynne Wood, 66, says she was not ‘naked’ and used a private bathroom to shower. She accused the girl of lying and says that she has the right to use the women’s locker room.

The experience, she said, her voice shaking with nerves, made her fear for her five-year-old sister and worry about her safety and privacy. She was vilified by LGBTQ activists.

Now, Wood speaks up to accuse Phillips of lying.

In multiple interviews on local radio and television stations, she has insisted that she was never naked and claims that she showered, as she always does, in one of the private bathrooms with the curtain drawn.

He also spoke at a protest at the same gym where the incident occurred in December.

I’m Christynne Lili Wrene Wood. I am the terrifying transgender woman that boy misidentified as a man,” she said.

She then praised the children who had come to support her, saying: ‘You are the people we really love. And you are the next generation that will make those Neanderthals irrelevant.

In interviews, Wood and his friends have insisted that all he did was “take a bath.”

He has compared his struggle to that of blacks during the civil rights movement and vowed to continue fighting for their cause.

In 2021, the ACLU supported her in a lawsuit against a Crunch Gym branch, where she was told she couldn’t use the women’s locker rooms unless she had gender reassignment surgery.

She said she had been subjected to homophobic slurs in the men’s locker room and did not feel safe.

As a compromise, the gym offered him access to what they called a Platinum VIP men’s locker room with insufficient amenities, but Wood turned him down.

Phillips, in his original complaint to City Council, said: ‘While showering after my workout, I saw a naked man in the women’s locker room. I immediately went back to the shower, terrified, and hid behind his flimsy excuse of a curtain until he was gone.

‘This is the YMCA, where hundreds of children spend their summer afternoons in childcare camps. This is the YMCA where my little sister took gymnastics classes.

“A grown man can shower next to a teenage girl at his YMCA here in Santee,” he said.

She said she complained to staff, but was slapped across the face and told that Wood had every right to use the women’s locker room.

“I felt like I had done something wrong,” he said.

He has since appeared on FOX’s Tucker Carlson show, where he said he didn’t know his comments would cause such a fuss.

I didn’t even know it was being recorded. She had no idea that she was going to get this response on a national level.

β€œI felt it was my duty. People are realizing that this is happening in their neighborhoods. Parents, women and children are outraged by this. My security, my privacy was threatened. She had just been in the shower, one of the most vulnerable positions a girl can be in.

“I see his butt, so not only do I want to see it, but I was terrified that he would see me.” I went back to the shower… this doesn’t empower me at all.

β€œIn our efforts to empower transgender people to express themselves, you are threatening my security, my privacy,” she said.

The YMCA says it is subject to local laws on the matter.

In California, transgender people can use the locker room or bathroom of the gender they identify with, no matter how far along they are in transitioning.
