Brooke Boney, 35, praised the Today show for becoming more diverse since co-host Sarah Abo, 36, took on her new role this week.

The show host, who is a proud Gomeroi woman, explained that she and Sarah do not take their positions for granted, she said. tv tonight: ‘This is really very special and great that we can do this.’

Sarah, who was born in Syria and moved to Australia at the age of four, received a phone call from Brooke after her debut hosting the Today show on Monday.

According to Brooke, the two ‘reflected’ on what it meant to them to have such high-ranking roles on morning show TV.

He explained that it’s about representation on TV, he said, ‘You’ve got to have a reason to throw yourself into the world of TV so much.

“For me, it’s about representation because when I was younger there weren’t any blackfellas that were on current affairs shows or breakfast shows.”

Brooke remembered how she wasn’t allowed to see her grandparents during the day, but now things have drastically changed as she now greets everyone, every morning.

The 35-year-old admitted that the sentiment is always close to her heart.

“It’s never been lost on me how important and how special that is.”
