Emma Thompson and Gaia Wise look GLORIOUS in black patterned ensembles at the Inspiration Awards
Dame Emma Thompson and her daughter Gaia Wise clearly share a gene for exceptional red carpet style.
The two actresses stunned at the Inspiration Awards for Women, held at London’s Landmark Hotel on Friday.
The couple smiled brightly for the cameras, hugging as they made their way to the red carpet.

While both mother and daughter opted for black patterned ensembles, Dame Emma, 63, daring in a scarlet red suit consisting of a long blazer and wide leg pants.
She wore the suit over a black velvet undershirt and paired the ensemble with chunky white platform shoes with black trim and understated black fringe.
She completed the daring outfit with bright red lipstick, thick eyeliner, and large dangling earrings. She styled her cropped gray hair into fierce waves, adding a wild edge to her look.

Meanwhile, her 23-year-old daughter went for an edgier look in a jet black lace maxi dress, with a thigh-high slit in the front, exposing her slender legs.
The semi-sheer gown, embroidered with black flowers in keeping with Gaia’s modesty, had a plunging neckline and a cute circle cut out just below her neckline.
She paired the dress with black heeled ankle boots, the upper part of the shoe created with lace that revealed her slender feet.
She copied her mom’s thick black eyeliner, but chose a more subtle pink lipstick to complete the streak. She wore her dark hair in light curls that framed her oval face.
She Got It From Her Mom: Gaia must have inherited her good sense of style from her mom, as both actresses look exceptional.
Founded in 2008, the Inspiration Awards for Women is an annual event that seeks to ‘recognize women who are great role models for [the] Next Generation’.
According to his website, founder Sky Andrew created the event to fight against the negative representation of women in the press.
It says: ‘Women were portrayed as dependent on men and only interested in doing things like fickle things like shopping and reality shows. ‘
‘It’s really important that our next generation have a balanced view of women… To capture the imagination of our next generation, they need to see and hear the journeys of women doing important things in society. ‘
Joining her daughter, the Cruella actress was also seen posing with Great British Bake-off heartthrob Mary Berry, 87, who has been nominated for a lifetime achievement award at the event.
Other event attendees included former TV chef Ainsley Harriott, former footballer Harry Redknapp, reality star Lauren Goodger, singer Sam Fox and actress Charlotte Kirk.

Dame Emma, who shares Gaia with actor Greg Wise, hasn’t always been a fan of how closely her daughter has followed in her footsteps.
The Love Actually star revealed in August that she had subtly tried to discourage her daughter from acting, joking that she I could ‘run a restaurant’ instead.
She told the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential: “I keep saying, ‘I know you like acting, but, you know, maybe running a restaurant can be just as exciting.'”
Despite other ideas from the Oscar winner, Gaia pursued her acting dreams, making her television debut in the 2022 series of the BBC drama Silent Witness.

In the series, Gaia played college student Jo Reynolds, whose mother, the controversial health secretary, is murdered, sparking the interest of forensic pathologists.
Gaia has also previously revealed to Richard Eden of the Daily Mail that she is prepared to follow her mother’s lead and strip naked on screen, which the lady did in her film. Good luck to you, Big Leo.
Gaia said: “If it’s professionally prepared and you have the right kind of protection around you, then it’s absolutely fine.”

Gaia shared a close bond with both parents and previously credited her parents with saving her life by staging an emergency intervention.
Anorexia is a serious mental illness in which a person restricts their food intake, often causing them to be much underweight. Many also exercise excessively.
The aspiring actress developed anorexia at the age of 16 that left her so thin she couldn’t even sit in a chair without pain. She later entered rehab in 2017.
Talking about his illness for the first time with sun on sundayGaia talked about how Greg, Emma and their family, including brother Tindy, 36, and his best friend got together for surgery, with Gaia agreeing to a three-month rehab period after Greg said, “I don’t know where is my child is more.’
Adding that it was a “kick in the teeth”, he added: “I had to listen to the people I loved the most in the world that, at that point, I had really forgotten about, tell me what I was doing.”
She said: ‘That’s when I said I was going to rehab. I went on December 29, 2017 and stayed for three months. Since then I have received a lot of therapy, and I will always be grateful for that, because it saved my life.’
