An American expat who moved to Australia says living in Melbourne has made her a “snob”, saying the city’s excellent food culture has led her to find other places sub-par.

Katie Payne left Iowa for the Midwestern United States in August 2019 to spend a four-month stint in Newcastle, north of Sydney, but enjoyed her time so much that she returned.

Now, after living Down Under for a while, you finally understand what makes Melbourne different from other cities in the world.

“I’ve narrowed it down to almost one thing that makes Melbourne so great, and that’s the food and drink culture,” Katie said on her latest TikTok. video.
