Lottery winner is JAILED for horrific sexual abuse of two teens after buying them alcohol and kissing them in the park

An Adelaide Lotto winner has been sent to jail for abusing teenagers and creating child exploitation material.

Mathew James Campbell appeared in South Australia District Court on Friday, pleading guilty to rape, two counts of indecent assault, grossly indecent behavior and possession and production of child exploitation material.

Campbell was jailed for ten years, one month and 19 days for his crimes, Adelaide Now reports. The sentence carries a six-year non-parole period.

During sentencing, Judge Karen Thomas said the community was “disgusted” by Campbell’s crimes, and that his offense was “predatory and brazen.”

Campbell sexually assaulted two girls, ages 16 and 17, in a park after buying them a ten-pack of Smirnoff.

He joined them as they drank in the park, before kissing the two girls on the lips without their consent.

At one point, Campbell forced the 17-year-old to perform a sexual act on him when the 16-year-old left the area, the court heard.

When Campbell was arrested on January 23, 2022, police found vile images of children under the age of 14 being abused.

They also found four images created by Campbell, which were categorized as child exploitation material.

Joseph Henderson, who represented Campbell in court, said that after winning the lottery, Campbell quit his job as a manual laborer.

However, the full amount of his winnings was not disclosed.
