The Today show host attacked the world No. 8 while chatting with Australian tennis player John Millman on Friday morning.
“Danielle, as we like to call her on the Today show,” the TV veteran said.

The Russian later explained that his reaction to Wednesday night’s win was partly a way of laughing at how he compares himself to tennis star Marton Fuscovics (pictured).
The 33-year-old Millman, who lost to Medvedev in straight sets earlier this week at Melbourne Park, disagreed with ‘Karlos’.
‘I don’t think so,’ he replied.
‘We need some characters in our game and he [Medvedev] It is one of them.’
Medvedev raised eyebrows following his unusual celebration after beating Millman on Wednesday night.
The former world number 1 sealed the match with an ace and then hiked up his shorts to reveal the muscles of his upper leg.
Medvedev explained afterwards that the match had left him ‘quite tired’, so showing off his leg was a demonstration of his excellent fitness.
Stefanovic is not a fan of the Russian’s behavior on the pitch, and believes the former world number 1’s celebration after beating Australian John Millman was ‘over the top’
However, Millman disagreed with Stefanovic, stating that his Russian opponent is a good character for the sport.
The Russian also said he was laughing at how his physique compares to that of Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, who stripped naked in an intense celebration after beating Federico Coria in the first round.
After their four-hour, five-set match on court 17, the Burberry model stripped off his fluorescent yellow shirt to reveal an extremely ripped physique, flexed his muscles and bellowed in triumph.
“That was kind of to show… how I probably felt about a lot of people on social media,” Medvedev said.
“Pictures of Marton after his match…I think I have a little less muscle than him, so it was also to laugh at me…I think I have a little muscle, but definitely not too much.” much.’
