Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald plans to play football in 2023, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year clarified on social media.

There was confusion on that point after Donald briefly changed his social media profile to read, “Former NFL D Linemen (sic) for the Rams.”

The panic spilled over onto social media and ultimately onto NFL Network host Peter Schrager’s podcast, where Chris Long, Donald’s former teammate, insisted the All-Pro interior lineman would return.

‘I think [Donald] He’s going to play next year, I have very good reason to believe that,’ said Long, who played two seasons with Donald in St. Louis before the Rams moved to Los Angeles and he signed with the New England Patriots. “I know there was the Twitter bio, but yeah, he’s going to play.”

Donald responded on Twitter to a clip of Long’s quote.

“Tell ’em C Lo yeah I’m playing I never said I said no,” Donald tweeted.

Now, Donald appears to be returning for a 10th season in the NFL.

And for what it’s worth, Donald has changed his Twitter bio to explain that he’s an ‘Ex Pitt Panther,’ a reference to his alma mater, and a current ‘NFL D Lineman for the Rams.’
