Family Matters Star Darius McCrary Files Restraining Order Against His Ex
Actor Darius McCrary has filed a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, who he claims has been ‘terrorizing’ him for quite some time.
The 46-year-old actor, best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the 1990s sitcom Family Matters, had initially filed for a protection order in August.
However, the order was not granted because McCrary failed to appear at the hearing and asserted in new court documents (via The explosion) that she is “terrorizing” him, which comes nearly four years after he settled his divorce with Tammy Brawner, adding that he is afraid of ending up like comedian Phil Hartman, who was murdered by his wife in 1998.

McCrary claimed in the August filing that she broke his car window and tried to attack him with a lead pipe.
The actor added that he did not show up for the August hearing because he was “displaced at the time and had to run away from my ex.”
The documents went on to say that the actor is “emotionally traumatized and unable to focus at work or on a day-to-day basis out of fear.”

She added that she doesn’t even live in her own house, claiming it’s “because of my ex’s (physical, verbal, mental) abuse.”
McCrary continued on his ex’s restraining order request, “he turned our house back then into a drug den.”
She added that her ex “agreed to leave the country to attend rehab,” but now she’s back, “and now she’s calling and sending threats.”

The actor said the “last straw” before filing the restraining order occurred in December, when he “threatened that his friends would come and take my dog and if I didn’t pay him,” adding, “she has the keys to my vehicle’. ‘
‘I’m afraid she will cause more damage. She continues to call me a punk (and other names we choose not to mention) and is smearing my name in various professional circles in the entertainment industry,” she stated.

In addition to the restraining order, McCrary is also seeking a gag order because her ex is “tarnishing her name at her workplace.”
McCrary will have a hearing later this month asking the judge to convert his temporary restraining order to a permanent protective order.
