Christian singer Amy Grant has hit back at homophobic trolls who criticized her for hosting her niece’s same-sex wedding at her Hidden Trace Farm in Franklin, Tennessee.

In 2013, the star commented on homophobic attitudes in the religious community towards LGBTQ+ people, saying her message was one of inclusion.

She said: ‘I know the religious community hasn’t been very welcoming, but I just want to emphasize that the path of faith leads us into community, but it’s really about relationship.

‘The path of faith is simply to be willing and open to have a relationship with God. And all are welcome. Everybody.’

Elsewhere in the interview, the star revealed that the support of her husband Vince was important in her recovery after her terrifying bicycle accident last year.

She said she now feels “fantastic” when she arrived at the Music Center in Los Angeles on Saturday for an event honoring Jerry Moss.

Last July, the country singer was injured in a bicycle accident in Nashville, Tennessee and had to cancel several tour dates.

“The biggest thing was in the two months after the accident, it was really depressing,” said the mother of four.

It all got cancelled, and I just said, “What if I never come back?”

“He said, ‘Things happen to people every day, and you just have to take one day at a time, and we’re here, and I love you,'” she recalled.

“And that made every day of the trip good,” he added. And I feel fantastic.

Grant was wearing a helmet, but he also suffered a serious head injury and was unconscious for 10 minutes.

She told People that although she has recovered, she still faces little stamina and “memory issues.”

He added that “every once in a while, I’ll be talking to someone, and they’ll say something that I guess I used to know, and I’ll gasp and go, ‘Are you kidding?’

She was hospitalized in stable condition after her accident, but her doctor ordered additional recovery time, forcing her to cancel tour dates and postpone performances.
