EastEnders legend Adam Woodyatt has criticized social media “scams” after they used his weight loss to advertise his account.
The 54-year-old actor took to his Instagram on Monday to share a fake ad he had seen that had nothing to do with him.
He also said he was aware of several accounts posing as him, but clarified that his account with 108,000 followers was the only one he used.

He said: ‘A friend saw this ad on Facebook or whatever it’s called this year and sent it to me. It is 100% NOTHING to do with me.
I am also aware of several accounts pretending to be a personal or private account for me on Instagram, no matter how many times we report or block them, another one appears.
“I’m on Twitter and Facebook but rarely use them, this is the account I use regularly, although I don’t reply to comments often (I should probably engage a bit more than I do) and I never check messages.”
She ended her post by advising her followers to “be careful on social media.”

Responses to Adam’s post were equally divided: half horrified by the scam and half impressed by his weight loss.
One user commented: “It looks great, nonetheless.”
Meanwhile, another wrote: ‘False ad aside… big difference before and after!’
Adam was a familiar face on Albert Square having played the role of Ian Beale for 36 years before leaving the show in 2021.

However, he recently accepted that his on-screen role will have caused problems for his two children, Jessie, now 29, and Sam, 25, whom he shares with ex-wife Beverley.
adam said the daily star: ‘You’d have to ask them what it was like going to school with Ian Beale as his father was. It must not have been easy for them.
In fact, I apologized for them once when I picked up an award. They must have received a stick at school.
Since leaving Walford, The EastEnders veteran has been hard at work on new projects, including starring in the West End musical My Fair Lady.

The actor who first appeared on the BBC soap in 1986 also referenced the recent flashback episode that dramatized Albert Square in a single episode from 1979.
Adam stated: ‘I thought he was very smart. Congratulations to the team.
The special episode gave some backstory to the Mitchell family and introduced Jaime Winstone as Peggy Mitchell, the character made famous by Dame Barbara Windsor.

On whether or not he would return to the show, Adam revealed in September: “The door has been left open, but there are many doors.”
In November 2021, Adam shocked his family, along with the nation, when he joined I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! as a newcomer alongside Coronation Street star Simon Gregson.
Entering the show, Adam said: “I didn’t want to spoil the surprise, so I’ve kept very quiet about it.”
Adam came out of I’m a Celeb in sixth place. The actor was part of a double elimination matchup with Olympic gold medal-winning diver Matty Lee.
